Concurrent programming is tough. Before Java 5, programmers only had low-level APIs for dealing with difficult concurrency problems. Enter the java.util.concurrent package!
During this session, we will cover new concurrency features added to Java 5 and 6. These features simplify multi-threaded application development by providing higher-level classes and functions.

Brent Watson is the newest member of the Regina Technology Community team of facilitators. His goal is to revive the long running conversation about Java in Regina. This will be our first-ever Java event!
Brent has worked for companies such as SaskTel, GE Healthcare, and his own technology company Brent Watson Technologies Inc. He is a Sun Certified Java Programmer and has been developing software for over 10 years.
