Brent Watson

The Regina Technology Community welcomes Brent Watson!

Topic: New concurrency features in Java 5 & 6
Concurrent programming is tough. Before Java 5, programmers only had low-level APIs for dealing with difficult concurrency problems. Enter the java.util.concurrent package!

During this session, we will cover new concurrency features added to Java 5 and 6. These features simplify multi-threaded application development by providing higher-level classes and functions.

We'll cover:
  • Concurrent Collections
  • Queues
  • Executors
  • Locks
  • Atomic classes

Still using "synchronized"? Be sure to join us!
