Topic: Managed Metadata and Search in SharePoint 2010
One of the most exciting features introduced as part of SharePoint 2010 is the Managed Metadata service. This service allows for the standardization of terms and content types that are used in your company, not only in the farm where the service is defined, but potentially across the whole enterprise.

Search is another area that provides significant improvements over the previous version, now allowing broad customization options that do not necessarily require custom development. One such example is surfacing metadata defined in the Managed Metadata service to allow a drill-down on the search results based on this metadata. This session will go over some of the exciting features offered by the Managed Metadata service and Search and provide a few examples of how you can leverage them for your business.

Vili is a SharePoint Developer with DevFacto Technologies and lives in Regina, Saskatchewan. He has four years of experience installing, administering, and customizing SharePoint 2007 and SharePoint 2010 environments for both intranet and public-facing scenarios. Vili enjoys finding unique ways to leverage SharePoint to resolve business needs and is looking forward to contributing more to the technology community in Regina in the near future.
