Topic: The Scala Language Tour
A guided tour over the many language features and paradigms Scala offers. The presentation is meant to serve as a "look before you leap" guide for developers interested in Scala, but who may have been been discouraged when they tried to first "jump in" to programming with Scala.

Speaker: Craig Tataryn
Craig Tataryn is a Developer and owner of Grind Software Inc. Most of Craig's career has been anchored in Java however his personal mandate "to not stagnate" has led him to learn and understand the intricacies in topics like Functional programming. Craig is organizer of both the Winnipeg Functional Programming Group as well as the JVM Programming Group and has authored several articles and presentations on Scala for conferences including JavaOne, TSSJS and Prairie Dev Conf.
