David Drever on PowerShell with SharePoint

Join us on September 24th @5:30pm for David Drever on PowerShell!

Topic: How to Bake Your SharePoint environment Without Getting GUI
As veteran SharePoint users will know and those new to SharePoint will soon learn, the installation and configuration of a SharePoint environment can be a “click and wait” heavy process. The configuration process is very user intensive and time consuming, sometimes resulting in misconfigurations that require more work to change than the initial setup in order to get things right. So what if we could do the entire setup including configuration of the farm and deployment of site collections, sub sites, pages, lists and libraries as well as implementation of custom solutions and placement of web parts on a page all with one double click?

This session will be a deep dive in to Microsoft’s PowerShell scripting and how it can be used to build an entire SharePoint environment in minutes. I will discuss PowerShell itself, xml configuration options, configuring your SharePoint farm with scripting and implementing a SharePoint environment through PowerShell scripting. While this session is geared more towards the ITPro side of SharePoint, developers and power users will also benefit from the information in this session.
