Things Your API Should Be Doing with Chad McCallum

Join us on April 29th @ Noon for Chad McCallum on Things Your API Should Be Doing!

Web APIs have been taking the world by storm for the last decade and we have dozens of tools and frameworks to make API creation as easy as a drag & drop operation. While those tools give you the basics, they don't give you the advanced support that your clients need to make their calls faster, send only the data they want, and respond quickly. I'll highlight a few things that popular APIs are doing right, and some ways that you can apply them to your own calls to save bandwidth and hosting costs.

Speaker: Chad McCallum
Chad McCallum is a Saskatchewan computer geek and ASP.NET MVP with over a decade of .NET experience. After graduating from the Computer Systems Technology course at SIAST in Saskatoon he picked up contracting until he could pester iQmetrix to give him a job, where he's been for the last 9 years. He had a brief stint in Vancouver working on consumer interactive retail software, since then he's come back to Regina where he started HackREGINA, a hackathon organization aimed at strengthening the developer community while coding and drinking beer. His current focus is ecommerce websites using MVC5 and JavaScript. Between board games and beer, he tries to learn a new technology every week - you can see the results on www.rtigger.com
