Agile Project Management: Working smarter, not harder with Thomas Boxall

Join us on March 22nd @ Noon for Agile Project Management: Working smarter, not harder with Thomas Boxall!

So you have decided to start an Agile project. What now? How do you get started? How do I organize my team? How to I track my work? With this session I will give you the building blocks you need to set up an Agile project, manage the work throughout your project, coordinate with your clients, and provide some helpful tools you can inject in any project you encounter. I’ll be covering all the tools we use at Lexcom Systems Group as part of the Lexcom Development Methodology to help us deliver on our projects (including when to not run a project as an Agile project). If you don’t plan to start and manage your own Agile Projects, I will also be covering helpful tools to track your productivity, and improve your efficiency. The key to success in today’s IT industry is to use the right tools for the job. I hope to expand your toolbox and make you better equipped to handle the ever changing challenges we all face in our day to day jobs.

Speaker: Thomas Boxall
Thomas Boxall started his IT career with the Canadian Forces as a Signal Operator, where he was proud to serve a Tour of Duty in Afghanistan in 2004. In 2007, Thomas began working for ISM Canada, and IBM company. At ISM Canada, Thomas was first introduced to Agile, RUP, and TDD. Even with Waterfall based projects, Thomas was able to improve the reliability of his code by implementing Agile practices. In 214 Thomas moved to Lexcom System Group to pursue his goal of becoming an IT Architect. While at Lexcom, Thomas has become the manager of Application Development, and was instrumental at defining the Lexcom Development Methodology (a semi-dynamic mixture of Agile Project Management, and Lean Software Development) that is used on application development projects to date.
